Tomáš Zelený, drummer
Drummer Tomáš Zelený, a graduate of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, belongs to the young generation of jazz musicians who naturally build on tradition while developing a distinctive approach to jazz. His musical growth has also been shaped by international experience gained during his stay in the United States.
The Tomáš Zelený Trio, consisting of drums, double bass, and piano, blends elements of the New Orleans jazz tradition with the modal aesthetics of the 1960s. Their music combines energy, melodic openness, and space for collective improvisation – all within a modern sonic concept of the piano trio.
