Kristina Barta – pianist & composer
“Fiery, expressive, eloquent and stubborn,” wrote one critic of Czech pianist and composer Kristina Barta. Originally trained as an oboist, she later graduated in jazz piano from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
Barta is an internationally recognized artist, blending classical training with a modern jazz sensibility. She has performed across Europe at major venues and festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival, Bimhuis, Jazzahead!, Jazzdor, and A-Trane.

Winner of the 2016 Czech Jazz Composer Competition
Finalist of the Euroradio Jazz Competition (2016)
Winner of Powiew Młodego Jazzu (Poland, 2017) for best solo performance
